Founder, God's Gift 2 U

Dr. Mia Jorie Washington, a retired U.S. Army Veteran, is the visionary Founder of God’s Gift 2 U, established in 2022 to foster positive transformation in the lives of children, youth, and families throughout the Chicagoland and South Suburban areas, while also reaching communities across Illinois and Indiana.

A lifelong advocate for service and empowerment, Dr. Washington is Certified in Mental Health First Aid for both Youth and Adults, equipping her to provide crucial support and education on emotional wellness and community care. Her outstanding leadership and commitment have been recognized with Letters of Commendation from the Mayors of Phoenix, Illinois, and Richton Park, Illinois, honoring her dedicated service to the community.

In addition to her nonprofit work, Dr. Washington is a licensed professional in Finance and Cosmetology, as well as an experienced Cosmetology Teacher. She combines business acumen, creative artistry, and mentorship to help others achieve financial independence, self-confidence, and professional growth.

Through her compassion, resilience, and faith-based vision, Dr. Washington continues to uplift and inspire others, reminding all that every person is “God’s Gift” with the power to Thrive, Assert, Lead, and Know their worth.
